Tuesday Testimonial: Navigating the Path to Renewal with Jess LeCroy! 🌈

Let me introduce you to the extraordinary Jess LeCroy – the epitome of an ideal coaching client! πŸš€βœ¨ From our very first intake session, Jess displayed an insatiable appetite for personal and professional growth. I recommended some insightful books, and guess what? She devoured them all, from exploring highly sensitive people (HSP) research to insights on burnout and atomic habits. Talk about commitment! If you are a reader too, be sure to check out last week’s Friday Five with our session’s suggestions.

Note from the author: Occasionally, we link to products or services we love using affiliate links. This means that we may receive a small percentage or fee for referring you to any product you may purchase from one of those sites. These small fees help sustain our small business. We genuinely appreciate your support.

What sets Jess apart is not just her preparedness but her kindness, compassion, and commitment to justice. Our friendship is founded on shared values of goodwill, and she radiates positivity, uplifting everyone around her. A high-achieving mother, partner, and seasoned higher education professional who recently achieved her master's degree, Jess finds herself at a crossroads, feeling stuck.

As I share on the Lamar Creative Co.'s website, "Feeling stuck is normal. Remaining stuck is a choice." This is where coaching becomes a potent tool, and Jess is embracing it wholeheartedly.

Our meeting at the local pizza joint is a delightful exchange. Armed with her trusty notebook, Jess brings thoughtful questions, and I bring a whimsical smile, knowing she already holds the answers within. Together, we sift through her thoughts, unraveling deep insights with thought-provoking questions.

Jess recognizes the burnout lurking within, a challenge not uncommon in higher education professionals. We explore the necessity of self-reflection and addressing the burn before it becomes an uncontrollable wildfire. It's heartening to witness Jess actively engaging in this crucial self-work.

Jess embarks on a poignant exercise inspired by Drs. Emily and Amelia Nagoski's and their book, Burnout. The assignment? Jess is writing a love letter to herself under the guise of writing a letter to me. After today’s session, I said, β€œCome prepared with a letter in hand on what she loves and admires about me.” After all, she was so keen on interrupting her session to tell me what I was good at, so here’s where I flipped the script.

According to the Nagoski sisters, when we pour into others what we love about them, we are often recognizing components of ourselves that we also admire but often fail to recognize. It is a step and tool they suggest when pouring into ourselves is challenging. After all, why is it so easy, especially for women, to love others but not love themselves? How often do we put our children, our partners, and our work above our needs? How can a simple compliment to your coach unveil that, hey, maybe you, too, need a little love in your cup?

We all need to do better at acknowledging our strengths, building our self-efficacy and knowing how much our presence is a present for others. For Jess, it’s a kind, intentional heart that gives openly and generously. So, in our next session, when Jess comes prepared once again, I will have her read the letter out loud. Instead of reading my name, she will read β€œDear Jess” and pour it into herself.

Oftentimes, coaching sessions dive deep into the intricacies of self-love, present healing, and building our desired future. Jess's upcoming letter-reading session promises tears, a vital component of the healing process. Together, we navigate the complexities of emotions with comfort and support.

In the words of Glennon Doyle, I guide clients like Jess to know their deepest knowing and find their path to health. My role is not to keep clients tethered; it's to empower them to navigate their path confidently. Jess is on her way to reclaiming her intuition, flexing her strength, and building the present and future she desires.

Our time together may be short-lived, for in my role as an executive coach, success is measured by clients no longer needing me. I empower individuals to discover, undo blocks, and shape their envisioned futures. Like many others I've had the privilege to work with, Jess is on a trajectory toward profound well-being.

Cheers to Jess's journey, and may we all find the strength to reclaim our health and embrace the wisdom within. Oh, and may we all be as intentionally kind as my dear, sweetest friend, Jess. πŸ’–πŸš€
